Events and Happenings

To awaken curiosity and encourage children to ask questions fearlessly, an ‘Ask Why’ campaign was started in RISE School. Children ask questions about day to day phenomena. One question is discussed in detail each day during assembly. It is amazing to see the things which children notice. Questions like, ‘why does milk overflow on heating but not water’, ‘how do mosquitos see at night’, ‘why do we have eyebrows’… the questions are endless!

It’s an enjoyable ‘problem’ for the teachers who face this barrage of questions, and often educative too. We have planned to compile all the questions and answers and release a book, with teachers and students as authors.

About Us

RISE School was set up in a remote village where the requirement for a quality school was very high. A detailed survey was carried out in early 2000 and Samiyandipudhur village in Pollachi taluk, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu was identified as an ideal location to start a school for rural children as there was a need for a school which provide equal educational opportunities as their urban peers at affordable cost.
