RISE India Trust entered into partnership with AID India (Eureka Child) in 2015-16 academic year through its Eureka SPARK (Skill Progress through Assessment and Remediation for Kids) Program to ensure that every child attains age appropriate arithmetic and language skills.
AID India brings with them abundant experience of working with government and educational institutions in large scale to improve learning levels of children. Equipped with ways and tools, our teachers worked towards making every single child in our school attain their age appropriate skills.
AID India provided the following services to RISE School.
- Training of Teachers to assess children’s learning levels
- Tools for evaluating children in Tamil, Maths and English
- Validation of teachers’ assessment
- Supply of activity-based materials for Tamil, Maths and English
- Monitoring and field training of teachers
On a continuous basis, children’s progress in learning levels in reading, comprehension and basic math operations were tracked and enormous progress was observed. Mrs. S.E.Sangeetha and Mrs. Bamarukmani were awarded Best Tutor award during the felicitation ceremony conducted by AID India in Chennai in May 2016. A skill declaration event was conducted to showcase the skill levels of children to the parents. Children confidently showed their reading and math skills to parents.
RISE School was set up in a remote village where the requirement for a quality school was very high. A detailed survey was carried out in early 2000 and Samiyandipudhur village in Pollachi taluk, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu was identified as an ideal location to start a school for rural children as there was a need for a school which provide equal educational opportunities as their urban peers at affordable cost.
